Where has the last fortnight gone?

Hi everyone,

It has been a crazy week or two. The season is changing, the children are back at school, our teams are evolving, winter menus are landing and Christmas is already demanding attention. 

If I am honest, I do not feel as though I have quite come up for air. But that is the hospitality world, and I love it. We are a 365-day, 24-hour operation. From breakfast first thing in the morning, to the lunchtime rush; afternoon tea, early suppers, late-night drinks and an overnight stay. Add our weekly pub events, weddings, food festivals, corporate lunches, the distilling of gin and showing up at events across the region, and you get a sense of the wonderfully busy world that is Freespirit. 

Maybe I thrive on that non-stop pace. Or maybe I simply do not know any different. What I do know is that none of it happens without our people. Our 180 Freespiriters are the ambassadors for everything we do. They are the faces welcoming you in, the people serving your favourite pint, cooking your supper, setting up a wedding, preparing a room and going the extra mile when it matters. 

We do not always get everything perfectly right. But we do not rest on our laurels either. We listen, we learn and we go again. That is how we keep getting better, while holding on to the thing that matters most: looking after people brilliantly. 

There is always a lot going on at Freespirit, but at its heart it is simple. We love hosting. We love bringing people together. And we feel incredibly lucky that you choose to share your ordinary days and special occasions with us. Here’s to another crazy weekend — full of brilliant people, great stories and proper hospitality.
