A little bit of good news from The Castle

I wanted to share a little bit of lovely news with you.

The Castle at Edgehill has won Best in Bloom at this year’s Hooky Awards, and I’m absolutely delighted for the team.

If you know the Castle, you’ll know how much the outside space means to us. We’re incredibly lucky to have the views, The Folly and that hilltop setting, but the gardens, terraces, pots and planting take a huge amount of work to keep looking their best.

There are plenty of early mornings, watering cans, muddy shoes and a lot of care behind it all. This award is a real credit to the team who put that effort in week after week, whatever the weather.

It also feels like a good moment to recognise the care that goes into all of our pubs. Each one has its own look and character, from gardens, planting and terraces outside to the bars, dining rooms and little details inside.

A lot of thought, time and hard work goes into making each pub feel individual and well looked after. They’re all very different places, and that’s exactly how we like it.

So while this week belongs to the Castle team and their very well-deserved award, it’s also a good reminder of just how much goes on behind the scenes across all seven pubs to keep them looking their best.

Next time you’re at the Castle, do have a wander around the gardens, take a look at The Folly and enjoy the view. And wherever you visit us, I hope you notice some of those little details that our teams put so much care into.
