Halloween & History at Freespirit

16/10/2026

Hi everyone,

Halloween is nearly upon us, and I reckon it’s as good an excuse as any to have a bit of fun!

We’ve got a few things planned across the Freespirit family, from spooky fun for the kids to a proper night out for the grown-ups. And a little bit of history thrown in for good measure!

The George at Brailes is getting into the spirit of things with a Halloween Fun Day on Saturday 31st October. There’ll be live music, a magician and plenty to keep the little monsters entertained from 2pm.

Over at The Sun Inn at Hook Norton, the kids can enjoy some colourful Halloween mocktails on the 31st. No tricks, just treats!

And if Halloween means an excuse to get dressed up and have a good old dance, The House in Leamington Spa is the place to be. Their Halloween Party on Saturday 31st October has live music from Wired Band, DJ Vince and, I suspect, a few questionable costumes!

Now for a bit of history!

The Castle at Edgehill has something rather special happening on Saturday 24th October, as we mark the anniversary of the Battle of Edgehill.

If you’ve ever stood at the Castle and looked out across the battlefield, you’ll know what an incredible spot it is. Well, we’re bringing a bit of that history back to life! From 4pm, there’ll be a live battle re-enactment, followed by music from the brilliant Folly Brothers from 7pm to 9pm. Throw in a hog roast, an outside bar serving warming drinks and you’ve got yourself a cracking evening!

Our usual menu will be available too, and it’s completely free to come along. A little bit of history, some great music and plenty of good food. What’s not to love?

And let’s not forget The Bell at Ladbroke, The Coach House at Ashby St Ledgers and The Red Lion at Hellidon. They’re all looking rather lovely in their autumn colours, and if dressing up as a vampire isn’t your thing, there’s nothing wrong with simply enjoying a good meal and a glass of something nice.

Whatever you’re up to over the next couple of weeks, I hope you find an excuse to pop in and see us.

Big Love,

Mark
