Tuesday marked my annual trip to Cheltenham Festival which, of course, meant ample tweed jackets, peaky blinder hats and champagne. I know that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but personally, I love the experience and every year, I have a wonderful time. Sometimes, I wish I could bottle the atmosphere of Cheltenham Festival. The parking is mayhem; the buzz is unique and there’s so much fun to be had. Of course, we’ve got to talk about the ‘roar.’ This has to be one of things I love most about the experience – the way it echoes around the course, sheltered by the magnificent Cleeve Hill. Every time, it gives me boosebumps. If you also attended this year, which day(s) were you there? If you have not yet had the experience, I would urge you to go with the ‘don’t knock it til you try it’ approach. You might just surprise yourself!
This week, we have also seen the launch of our Spring Menus across all sites. This means the introduction of lighter, fresher dishes, seasonal ingredients and, of course, some new puddings! I’m sure you would agree that it has been wonderful to see the sunshine this week, along with the lighter mornings, and there’s no better excuse for a pint in the pub garden than a bit of British sunshine.
Lastly, if you are yet to make plans for Mothering Sunday, we have a few later spots available at a couple of our sites. We also have plenty of availability for breakfast (if you fancy something a little different this year). The Coach, The Castle, The Bell, The George and The Sun all have tables available for a delicious Mother’s Day breakfast but be sure to book if you are looking for a table.
I hope you all have an enjoyable weekend
Big Love
Mark
